We have lots of snow.....the last storm dropped about 2 feet on our back porch, so driving has been a challenge but it's been pretty. 2. For all practical purposes, we have become placement ready for the Foster Care system. All thatbis left is paperwork. Now to get that pesky adoption application done. 3. The Ukraine Summer Camp application is in and we have put our preference in for placement. As soon as we raise enough funds to reserve her she is ours for the summer. She is a nine year old and adorable. Is shy loves to play with dolls and want a dog as a pet. I think she'll fit in fine here for 2 months. 4. Our new dog Timber is working out nicely. He is a 3 year old malamute and very lovable. I'll post pictures of him soon :). 5. Working hard at COP and subbing at FUSD. I now realize that teaching elementary school is my passion and love being back in the classroom. I am now working mostly on referrals so I have a lot of repeat placements. 6. Warner leaves for Mexico on February 15 for 10 days. It's his annual missions trip. I will be solo those days with the kids so it should be fun. When you see my crazy ravings just know I will survive.......probably. 6. Potty training is in sight. The kids are now 1 day dry again, so we'll see how they do tomorrow *crosses fingers*

2007 Wrap Up

Okay Since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd do a quick wrap up of 2007. Charlie and Shebly continued to grow. They turned 3 years old this year and headed into being strong headed toddlers. We began potty training but have not mastered the skill just yet. They have begun to have relationships declaring "best friends" at school and at church.

After almost 2 decades of teaching Sunday School off and on I took a sobactical from the ministry. God willing, I plan on doing VBS this year but we'll see what life brings. I cuntinued to teach at COP but with our numbers down I found myself working less that I had been. This is why I started subbing at Fresno Unified again and plan to work a few days of the week there in the new year.

We started our journey towards adoption thi year as well with our completion of PRIDE classes and our preliminary assessment of the house. Hopefully soon we will have buttoned up the loose ends and will be able to be cleared for placement. We also have been looking into International adoption and may be hosting some orphans from the Ukraine this summer. Please keep liftinf our family up on prayer for direction and please pray for our little one no matter where he/she may be right now.

Warner's life was pretty mush the same as it has been in the past. He has been enjoying 4x4ing with his buddies and working for the phone company. He has also been doing a lot of repairs around the house. Right now, in fact, he's outside rebuilding the carburator on the powerwagon.

This year also marked some sadness in our life as well with the passing of Tilly our Siberian Husky. Tilly had been a part of our life for almost 9 years so it was sad to lose our fuzzy puupy espcially since it was unexpected. I think Molly misses her the most now that she is alone for the first time in her life, but we hope to remedy that in the New Year.

Another sad but happy loss this year was our cousin Ali in Michigan. Ali lost her battle with Luekemia right before Christmas this year. She was a vivacious 15 year old who had a faith in God past her Earthly years. Throughout her fight, Ali continued to raise money for her 2 favorite organization: Make A Wish Foundation and Luekemia/Lymphoma Societies. She continued to maintain good grades and even particpate in many activities in her community. I will always remember Ali with her bright pink room, her playful attitude, and her ability to shine no matter what the circumstances. Although she lived accross the country and we were unable to see her often, Ali will be missed in California.

Well it's off to another New Year. Who knows what 08 will bring? I do know it will be busy and full of surprises. We pray that you take the time this year not only to be prosperous but also to focus on the important things in life: God, family, and friends. May you always feel small when you stand by the ocean, give the stars more than just a passing glance, and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I HOPE YOU DANCE :).

Updated Blog

Okay okay. I know I've been bad about updating the blog, so here it is. New pics for everyone to see. News in our lives???? Hmmmm. I have gone back to work part time at the day care in Auberry. It's a blessing to have a job where I can take my kids to work with me and have a place to leave them when need be. My friend Tiffany took over MOM this year so I am not as busy with that but just as busy with other things in my life. Warner Troy is still working hard and building his 4x4 rig. Everyday he finds something new to change/modify/make better. He has gotten the Shelby bug again and is dreaming of starting an Eleanor sometime soon. So what so I hear about all the time???? GT500. Guess it's a change from 4x4. Hopefully this year will be more about family and less about the things that make out lives hectic. Sometimes we just need to remember not to stop and smell the roses but examine the bug sitting on the petal with our little ones or find our inner Pteter Pan and learn to fly again. Here's to this year's great adventures!

Tea Party!

Shelby's first tea party with Grandmommy's tea cups. David Scott Ranney was born to Keri and sean early Friday morning. He was 6 lbs 8 ounces and is gorgeous mom says. Scott wanted to stay and visit with his new grandson and soak in the new baby vibes so much that they didn't get home from Sacramento til midnight last night. Mom says baby David is feeding well and sleeping with Keri. Pictures will come soon so keep checking back for the cute baby.

BTW, as an aside the Cochruns are in the hospital too delivering their new baby. Surprise surprise. For those of you who go way back, that's Bing and his wife Anita. Will have more info on that soon.

UPDATE: Mathias Andrew was born Friday weighing 6 lbs. 4 ounces and was 14 inches long. Bing has stayed with him in the nursery while Anita recovers from a c-section. Baby and Mommy are doing good though. Today was a good day. I got up this motning to feed the dogs thinking, "There's something I must remember...What is today?Thursday.... Trash Day!" After wheeling the trash can through the snow (Do they make chains for trash cans?) I climbed over the mound of snow that fell of the roof to get more dog food. Got the children up, fed them, and played until Sesame Street when I could finish dishes and play a little sudoku. After Sesame Street came lunch and the pone call that changed my day. Cheryl wanted the kids for a few days. Grabbing what was left of clean clothes out of the drawers, I went over and dropped off the kids and headed to town for Twin's Club night out. No one showed up so I called Josh and opted for Denny's instead. Around 11 p.m. we decided it was time to go home. Now I can stay up and watch movies or I can go to sleep knowing I don't have to get up until I want to. Freedom sweet freedom.

Day 3

Day 3 was uneventful if anything. After chatting with her a few minutes, I got myself ready and proceeded to make the kids breakfast. Cheryl was suposed to have the kids, but Cressman Rd. was a skating rink so we opted to leave the kids home. During breakfast Deegan's called to set up installation of the dryer, and it was off to MOM. What fun it was to play and chat with the other moms even though Cody and Charlie were trying to decide who the Alpha of the group was going to be. After MOM was a trip to the store for cabbage for Kelley and a few groceries. Filled up at the gas station. OUCH! Ran to Kelley's to drop off said cabbage and get a quick peek at those adorable babies and realized why I am so happy to have 22 month olds. Babies are hard! Naptime, dinner time, bath time, and cleaning up the toys. All the animals are snuggly in the Ark and Mrs. Noah has found her way home. Did Mrs. Noah have a first name? Then the crying started.....uh oh.....I know that cry......there's something in the bathtub.......Yep sure is....Spray off children and deposit them into bed after brushing teeth and saying prayers. Cleaned out the bathtub and finished dinner while trying to watch the Olympics. Not worth sitting through ADHD broadcastng, so I am off to pillage at Puzzle Pirates before bed. Survived Day 2. Now let's see about Day 3.

Day 1

Hubby left for Mexico this morning leaving me with the children alone for a whole week. Of course the weekend before he left winter decided to return to Shaver along with 8 inches of snow. To top it off both my children have seemed to find themselves in the Terrible Twos and the dryer decided to start its death throws once again. So...today was spent driving around Fresno finding a store that will deliver a dryer and install it this week. Guess most stores are afraid of propane. Finally ended up at Best Buy (I hate Best Buy unless shopping for DVD's with friends) where I ended up waiting 20 minutes to talk to a salesman and paying an outrageous fee to get dryer installed. Came home to grumpy son who decided today was not a day to take a nap, but after dinner bath, and prayers fell asleep just fine. Now its off to take my melatonin and try to get some sleep. Day 1 is complete and everyone is still alive. Bring on Day 2.

A Day at the Park

We had a playdate with the Simon's last week. I went to my high school reunion this past fall. While shopping for an outfit to wear (Hello, neede something without assortted stains and /or smudges), I found myself asking for minimizers instead of a push up bra.

2. The first questionI'm asked when meeting new friends is how old my children are. In reponse, I find out the particulars on theirs. We now talk about Girl's Night Out like it is gold and plan playdates.

3. My friends are turning 30......When did we pass 22?

4. I may not know the latest rock band but I know all the words to "Elmo's World."

I know some of you will say, yeah I remember when you were a..... but it's strange to me to be all grown up. Mom wanted to have Mette's parents see the mountain while they were visiting from Denmark. It was fun and different to have 2 different languages being spoken at our table even though Creston and Hannah's English was quite good. The family enjoyed hanging out in the backyard and playing Sequence. If you haven't experienced this board game, you should soon. It's very fun and challenging. Dad, Jo, Grandma Statkum, and Dad's family joined us for desset and storytime from Dad. A great time was had by all.

I Told You I'd Do It

Our new member of our family Shon enjoying the drumstick at Thanksgiving. It started in October with their wedding in Denmark, continued on with a reception in Clovis, and ended with a reception at Bayside Church where Matt is an intern. As you can tell, the couple is very happy to be married and are enjoying their lovenest in Penryn outside of Saramento. Mette finally got her green card, so she will soon be working and driving in the U.S.

As a surprise, Shon, Keri's Boyfriend, flew to London after the wedding and proposed. Congratulations to the happy couple. They plan to marry March 4th in downtown Sacramento.

TO KEEP IT ALL STRAIGHT: Matt is Scott's son, my brother/stepbrother. Scott is my stepdad. Matt is 25 years old. Keri is Scott's daughter, my sister/stepsister. She is 27 years old. Just a note for those who need a reminder.

Updates on Shelby

Shelby is our child who makes her needs known.
